The project confronts the relationship of man versus nature, and examines how architecture can coexist in harmony with nature, and create a new place in the natural space, free of human interference.

As a case study for examining the question, I chose Alexander river. The project is composed of chosen landmarks along the river path, with no physical connection to one another, whilst the reference to each point is unique, according to its locations influence and the way in which it interacts with nature. In this way, I created a unique structure for each place.

I based the project on the writings of German philosopher, Martin Heidegger in his article “The Pathway”, in which he describes a bridge, as an element over a river, which due to its existence, creates a ‘place’ in the open landscape.

The structures have common principles, which act as a guideline in their design: The relationship to the topography on the surface, emphasising and directing the line of view of the dwellers(visitors) in the buildings, to certain viewpoints, utilizing the nature – sun light during the day, the weather, seasonal changes, etc
