The social conflict in Lod has reached the point where "all the words have been said" and, in order to escape the standstill, there is a need for a neutral-intervention. The intervention can be the "wall" in "Wall Games" (Woods. L. 2004)

I found that Lod is continuously abandoned or half deserted, especially due to the elimination of the ancient-city. These abandoned areas strengthen the separation between the neighborhoods, and operate as "no man's lands" in the heart of the city.

The project aims to convert the old-city of Lod to an area of ex-territory; a place that belongs to no one, therefor, belongs to everyone. To support this idea, I chose to design with a deconstructive approach. However, the old memory within the place will be preserved in some ways, so the new design combines the historical relics with a new interpretation. Because architecture can only create static objects, the desire is to design the area using as many different options, all can be interpreted by each individual in a different matter, thus producing different experiences for the same space.
