Jaffa is used resource of profound historical identity yet serves as a platform for spatial and cultural struggles. It contains dimensions and mysterious qualities to attract diverse audiences. From a variety of characteristics that make up the urban identity of Jaffa, the starting point in the project promotes the values and qualities associated with the place.
The project deals with how to operate this unique texture and asking what the architectural action is needed to preserve the principles of the nature of the place. The Selected intervention area is among the four major centers and central city; Old City from the north, Ajami neighborhood from the south, Andromeda Hill to the east and the harbor from the west. Each of the four sides of this story has its own unique texture.
The project deals with the urban fabric of Jaffa and The built environment. The aim of the project is the connection between the four different places, the old city, Andromeda Hill, Ajami neighborhood and the port. Completion of architecture creates the missing piece of the urban fabric, through a new relationship that connects the ends and maintains an urban contiguity. Movement takes place on in a hierarchical system of axes, linking the existing environment in the new spaces. The intervention area has continuous relationship with the surrounding places and seeks to integrate into the fabric of Jaffa.
